Needing a car repair was not on my bingo card this last weekend. I was driving down from Boston heading to the Cape for the Fourth of July weekend. It has been about 100° and I have started to hit traffic and of course the dreaded check engine light goes on. I find myself panicking at 11 PM with still an hour to go and unfamiliar with the area. I get off the exit trying to figure out what to do. I get my dog out for a walk and to do a little bit of pacing to release some anxiety and that is when I spot the light on at the One Stop Auto Shop. I explained my situation to Frank and he immediately tells me to drive my car over. He runs some quick diagnostics and tells me indeed service is necessary and assures me that he will have my car ready for me tomorrow. Never in 1 million years would I expect the immediate relief and the ability for me to get my car on a holiday weekend. Less than 24 hours, I was able to pick up my car. Frank kept me in the loop on both the progress and the cost and was very fair in price again considering the big holiday weekend. Car is running great.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Frank is the most knowledgeable mechanic I know. He will never cut corners and is also the most reasonably priced Auto shop I've had the pleasure of dealing with. He's professional and personable and treats his customers like family.
I got a nail in my tire on RT 3 on the way from the airport heading to Cape Cod. It was on Sunday around 5 PM so i figured no place would be open and I would have to drive around with a nail in my tire. But i googled mechanics just to see if anyone was open and miraculously One Stop Auto Shop was and Frank the owner was an absolute lifesaver. He was abled to plug my tire and get me back on the road quickly. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced mechanic and provided fast and friendly service. I was surprised to find that the shop itself is more than 120 years old and had an amazing history.

Common questions and tips from our work with Plymouth customers.
- How do I know my brakes need work?
- Watch for a high-pitched squeal, which usually comes from the pad wear indicator. Grinding means metal is touching metal. A soft or sinking pedal, the car pulling to one side, a vibration through the pedal or steering wheel, or a brake warning light all mean it's time for an inspection. Getting it checked early often means replacing pads only, before the rotors are damaged.
- Do rotors need replacing every time pads do?
- Not always. Rotors are measured against a minimum thickness and checked for warping, deep grooves and rust pitting. If a rotor is still within spec and the surface is smooth, it may be reused or resurfaced. If it's too thin, warped or badly scored, new pads won't seat properly, and replacing the rotor is the better repair.
Tip
Don't Forget the Brake Fluid
Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air over time. That lowers its boiling point and can corrode lines and calipers from the inside. In a climate with salted winter roads, corrosion on brake parts builds even faster. Have the fluid's condition checked during brake inspections, and follow the flush interval in your owner's manual.
