  • Needing a car repair was not on my bingo card this last weekend. I was driving down from Boston heading to the Cape for the Fourth of July weekend. It has been about 100° and I have started to hit traffic and of course the dreaded check engine light goes on. I find myself panicking at 11 PM with still an hour to go and unfamiliar with the area. I get off the exit trying to figure out what to do. I get my dog out for a walk and to do a little bit of pacing to release some anxiety and that is when I spot the light on at the One Stop Auto Shop. I explained my situation to Frank and he immediately tells me to drive my car over. He runs some quick diagnostics and tells me indeed service is necessary and assures me that he will have my car ready for me tomorrow. Never in 1 million years would I expect the immediate relief and the ability for me to get my car on a holiday weekend. Less than 24 hours, I was able to pick up my car. Frank kept me in the loop on both the progress and the cost and was very fair in price again considering the big holiday weekend. Car is running great.

  • Frank is the most knowledgeable mechanic I know. He will never cut corners and is also the most reasonably priced Auto shop I've had the pleasure of dealing with. He's professional and personable and treats his customers like family.

  • I got a nail in my tire on RT 3 on the way from the airport heading to Cape Cod. It was on Sunday around 5 PM so i figured no place would be open and I would have to drive around with a nail in my tire. But i googled mechanics just to see if anyone was open and miraculously One Stop Auto Shop was and Frank the owner was an absolute lifesaver. He was abled to plug my tire and get me back on the road quickly. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced mechanic and provided fast and friendly service. I was surprised to find that the shop itself is more than 120 years old and had an amazing history.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Call first so we know you are coming and can fit you in. Unexpected shops closes without warning, and the owner works on your car directly, so walk-ins may hit a wait. Having your phone number lets us reach you when your car is ready or if we find extra work.

We run a full diagnostic scan to read your engine codes and check the main systems. That tells us what needs repair. We explain the findings before we touch anything, and you see the cost upfront. No surprises when you pick up your car.

Keep driving if it is safe; a check engine light does not mean your engine will fail right now. Call us or come by the shop. We will run diagnostics to see if it is a loose gas cap, bad sensor, or something that needs repair. Some codes are simple fixes; others need more work.

We work on cars from Plymouth, Sandwich, Mashpee, Falmouth, and the South Shore towns heading toward Boston. If you are close to Route 3 or Route 25, we can likely help you. Call with your location and we will let you know.

Brake work depends on what needs fixing. A simple pad replacement costs less than replacing pads and rotors. We inspect your brakes, show you what is worn, and give you the price before we start. Call or bring your car in for a look.

Call the shop to ask about weekend hours and whether the owner is available. We do emergency repairs when we can, but availability changes. Best to call ahead at (781) 689-1757.

Serving Kingston

Kingston is a commuter town. Many residents drive Route 3 toward Boston every weekday or drive to the commuter rail station in town. The busy retail area near the Route 3 interchange adds a lot of short, stop-and-go trips. Route 3A runs along the coast past Kingston Bay, where salt air and winter road treatment wear on metal parts. New England winters mean snow, freeze-thaw potholes and salted roads. Over a few seasons, all of that shows up as rusted brake parts, bent wheels and tires that lose air slowly.

Why Kingston customers need this work

Daily highway commutes add up fast, and high mileage is when sensors fail, brake pads wear thin and warning lights start to come on. Stop-and-go traffic near the Route 3 shopping area and the merge onto the highway both put heat into brakes. Kingston drivers who depend on their car to get to work need a problem diagnosed correctly the first time it's looked at, not after a round of guessed parts. Steady brake and tire checks keep a commuter car predictable through the winter.
